Is there anything more precious than a little child's baptism day? I don't think so. Our sweet Alyssa Jane was baptized last month. It was a beautiful day for our beautiful girl. She was so ready to be baptized, ready to receive the Holy Ghost and ready to share this wonderful day with those who love her most.
She was baptized by her dad and the spirit was strong. She was baptized in the same dress her sister and cousin were baptized in. She cried the whole time during the Bishop's talk, she said she knew it was the Holy Ghost. She made me cry.
Some of her cute little friends came to her baptism to show their love and support. Every night I thank my Heavenly Father that my children have good friends who help them choose the right and be the best that they can be.

We had a little luncheon after. Alyssa received some special gifts, like the traditional Holy Ghost shadow box from Grandma. It is now sitting on her dresser, a constant reminder of the precious gift she has been given and to help her remember her baptismal covenants.
It was a small gathering of family this time. Many aunts, uncles and cousins have moved away. We missed them, but felt blessed to be surrounded by our fantastic family and Alyssa felt the love of those far away. There was a lot of love on Alyssa's baptism day. We love her for the great daughter and example she is to us. We love the gospel and know she does too. We love being a family. We love the thought that we will all be together someday. We love that Alyssa is making so many good choices in her life!
Alyssa was baptized on September 11th. All of the flags were out in remembrance. Alyssa doesn't really even know the significance of September 11th. And that's OK. We now have a great memory of September 11th. The day our Alyssa became the newest member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
